About Sexy Units

SexyUnits is a tiny label established to release the music output of Dancing with Ruby (Charlotte Sanderson & Matt Culpin) and Northern Kind (Sarah Heeley & Matt Culpin) It may well release music by other artists in the future.

Northern Kind formed in 2006 and were proud to be 'indie' in the truest sense of the word; self produced, self made and free from the constraints of a conventional record label the duo proved that talent, vision and creativity can still cut the mustard in an industry saturated with X Factor production-line pop. Their maverick approach and quality production, coupled with accomplished live performance earned the duo respect and admiration with their listeners and contemporaries.

Recorded in Leicestershire, 'Credible Sexy Unit' their 3rd album follows the acclaimed releases 'Wired' in 2009 and '53 Degrees North' which topped album and download charts across Europe, gained the band a passionate following in the UK and won them a prestigious support slots with Gary Numan and Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode / Recoil) at the iconic Postbahnof, Berlin. To promote the release the duo performed at the 'Silicon Dreams' festival alongside God Father of the UK's electronic music scene Martyn Ware and pop legends Heaven 17.
